How many people can honestly say that they rang in the new year by running down the street saying, "I'm a pretty lady!" 2003 treated us all pretty well. I hope that 2004 is just as incredible.
Last night was just another example of the amazing dynamic that is Mullet Nation. There were a few conversations going on in all parts of the room, a never ending game of Mario Kart (which I, unfortunately, never took part in), and a totally rocking version of Auld Lang Syne...complete with the exclamation that "2003 is on fire!" Despite all the madness, everyone (I am assuming) had a wonderful evening. We all seemed so comfortable and at ease, the night really seemed to fly by. I think we need to give serious consideration to the idea that the seconds in 2004 are moving at about two times the speed of the seconds of 2003... I need to go now, but I just wanted to thank everyone for such an incredible evening. Thank you, Katy, for lending us your house for the evening. It was amazing. Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
For auld lang syne, my dear,
And surely ye'll be your pint stowp!
We twa hae run about the braes,
We twa hae paidl'd in the burn,
And there's a hand, my trusty fere! Robert Burns, "Auld Lang Syne" (I know the translation is all kinds of crazy, but all Bobby Burns is really saying is that we should all go drinking with friends from the past to reminisce.) |
